Digital Rail Lab Established
Published Oct 21, 2026
The KTH Railway Group is currently expanding with a new laboratory environment. The first step is a train driving simulator, which will be used for education and research concerning signalling systems and rail traffic.
It is a simulator of the same type (Transurb Nano) as those used by organisations such as SJ and Bane NOR for driver training and ETCS (European Train Control System) training. Researchers Niloofar Minbashi and Boban Djordjevic (pictured), from the Division of Transport Planning, are leading the Digital Rail Lab project and—together with several colleagues—are currently learning how to use the tool.
