About Testbed AH

Undervisningshuset is equipped with hundreds of sensors measuring temperature, carbon dioxide, humidity, air pressure and energy consumption. It provides students and scientists with necessary information to study the building's performance under various climate conditions and different user perspectives. The data can be used for research, development and educational purposes within KTH Live-in Lab.

Undervisningshuset is a building constructed for learning and education, where the learning environments and training methods of the future are being developed. Flexible environments for different types of learning such as class rooms for teacher-led sessions to group rooms and individual study places can be found in the building. The building has been designed and developed by Akademiska Hus and KTH’s building department with the main goal to achieve a creative, pedagogic and innovative environment where students and teachers work together.

Undervisningshuset facts

• Designed according to the wishes of teachers and students.
• Educational tool for aspiring architects and community builders.
• Inaugurated October 2017.
• Total area about 3500m2.
• 7 floors, 363 study places + 6 exercise rooms + 11 group rooms & break-out areas.
• Undervisningshuset is built according to the environmental certification Miljöbyggnad Guld, which is the highest ranking (Gold, Silver, Bronze).
