Landguiden – updated information about all the countries in the world

Published Mar 30, 2023

The Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI) is an independent institute and a platform for research and information on international relations and foreign policy. KTH Library offers access to their database Landguiden, written in Swedish.

In Landguiden, you can find facts about each country's geography, population, culture, history, politics, economy, and social conditions. It is also possible to make statistical comparisons between countries in the form of tables and diagrams.

The database is described by the UI as something in between a news service and an encyclopedia. Continuous updates describe changes in government, party reshuffles, constitutional changes, major political crises, the launch of important political and social reforms, changes in economic policy and more. For the most visited countries, there are calendars where important events are indicated.
