Scopus AI is now available for KTH
KTH Library now subscribes to Scopus AI, an AI service within the Scopus database. During autumn 2024 and spring 2025, several AI tools were tested together with researchers and students at KTH, and Scopus AI received particularly positive feedback.
Scopus is a comprehensive database containing scholarly literature and web resources at the abstract and citation level across all scientific disciplines. Scopus AI leverages this content to make it easier to navigate complex research questions. The tool can generate both short and extended summaries of relevant articles and visualize key concepts in a concept map. The service provides references to the sources underlying the summaries, enabling further in-depth exploration of the subject. Questions can be formulated in natural language, without the need for precise search terms. Answers are delivered in English, but questions can be written in Swedish, English, or other languages.
Scopus AI has recently been enhanced with a new feature, Deep Research, which generates detailed reports on a research area. These reports can provide a quick overview and highlight possible connections or research gaps. The reports are based on the AI’s algorithmic assessments, meaning that users still need to critically evaluate the content.
KTH has long had access to Scopus, and with Scopus AI the possibilities to navigate scholarly literature are further strengthened. In Sweden, 14 other higher education institutions have chosen to offer Scopus AI to their users.
Many thanks to everyone who participated in testing various AI tools. We look forward to continued dialogue and exchange of experiences!
