Sino-EU Engineering Education Platform PhD Summer School, 20 - 31 August, KTH - TU Eindhoven

The annual 2-week SEEEP PhD Summer School with the theme "Storage and Flexibility" will take place on 20 - 31 August 2018 at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and TU Eindhoven.

PhD Summer School is organized as a part of cooperation between the European network of technical universities, CLUSTER and the Chinese Network, Sino European Engineering Education Platform (SEEEP). It takes place every year, alternately in China and Europe and managed jointly by KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology, Zhejiang University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The School aims at developing multi-disciplinary skills of PhD students related to system engineering, design thinking, team working, presentation skills and peer learning.

The theme of the PhD School this year is “Energy Storage and Flexibility”. The schedule will include lectures, excursions and project work in an international working environment where students will come from European Universities as well as Chinese Universities. Selected high level lectures will be given by expert Professors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, KTH The Royal Institute of Technology and TU Eindhoven on topics encompassing energy production and consumption, renewable energy technology, sustainability, energy storage technology and energy grids and flexibility.

17 professors and 60 PhD students from different Chinese and European Universities 

Costs

The School is free of charge and don't require participation fee. Accomodation is provided and payed by the School organizers. In Eindhoven the students are offered a complimentary bike arrangement. Travel to KTH and Eindhoven should be paid by the students or their home departments.

Trip to Eidnhomen for KTH students is sponsored and arranged by KTH Energy Platform.

Application

We are looking for 15 motivated KTH PhD students who are interested in challenging multidisciplinary and multicultural projects. Welcome to apply with a CV and motivation letter no later than June 30.
