Strategic partner universities
KTH has entered into strategic partnerships with a number of leading technical universities. These partnerships span several sectors and can cover traditional student exchange, research collaboration, joint PhD programmes, joint Master's programmes and staff exchange. The strategic partner universities strengthen KTH's research, education and cooperation. They are an important part in the work to achieve KTH's vision and a powerful tool in building a global brand.
KTH has several in-depth collaborations both regionally and globally with strategic partner universities. Collaborations with strategic partner universities are characterised by a wide range of different activities within internationalisation, for example:
- Collaboration at the management level.
- Joint supervision (through cotutelle agreements) or joint doctoral programmes.
- Joint master's programs that either provide a double degree or a joint degree, as well as the development of courses.
- Various forms of mobility, not least student exchange.
- Joint seed funding.
The Nordic Region
Within the Nordic Region, KTH has in-depth collaboration with the universities within the Nordic Five Tech network. The network includes:

Europe
Within the EU, KTH's focus is on collaborations within the European university alliance Unite!, which consists of nine prominent European universities of technology. The goal is to create a new European university model with common educational programs, virtual and physical mobility, innovative pedagogical methods and harmonised governance models. Within the alliance, KTH also collaborates in research and innovation.
