Sukande Kasáká – Ailing land

Kamikia and Lewaiki, members of the Kisêdjê people, are forced to leave their largest village after discovering pesticide contamination affecting their land, rivers, and food. Surrounded by expanding soy monocultures, they fight to protect their culture, families, and territory from an invisible threat that endangers their way of life. The film follows their struggle for survival and resistance against environmental destruction. Kamikia Kisedje, an Indigenous photographer and filmmaker trained by the Vídeo nas Aldeias NGO, has documented key moments in the Indigenous movement, capturing assemblies, cultural events, and mobilization efforts to defend Indigenous rights and land in Brazil.
