KTH researchers part of this year's Sustainability Forum
On Wednesday 4 October, this year's livestreamed Sustainability Forum was arranged by the University Alliance Stockholm Trio - a place where people meet, build networks, and create collaborations for sustainable development.
Several of the School of Architecture and the Built Environment's researchers participated in the sessions.
Sustainability Forum 2023 is titled "Universities and the 2030 Agenda: taking stock and moving forward".
Nina Wormbs was one of the panelists discussing Transdisciplinary Approaches to a Sustainable Future. The session explored questions such as: What can we learn from a 'wicked problem' perspective? Are there approaches that we still haven’t tried to meet the challenges, not the least when we look in the rearview mirror? How do we create hope in action?
Later in the afternoon, Rebecka Milestad, Ann Legeby, Pernilla Hagbert and Åsa Minoz among others discussed challenges for the future development of sustainable cities from a Swedish perspective during the SDG 11 - 2030 In sight: Towards sustainable cities here and now session. To achieve Sustainable Development Goal 11, global and local efforts must focus on providing access to basic services, affordable housing, efficient transportation and green spaces for all. The session explored how cities like Stockholm can lead by example and be used as a test bed for new research, innovation and bold decisions.
