Opening event: Broar till kunskap - An exhibition on building bridges in society

On Tuesday 14 May, the exhibition Broar till kunskap will open with a vernissage, mingle and panel discussion on the theme of bridges in culture and society.
The event will be in Swedish.

Marianne Ström, Photographer and art historian

Marianne Ström is an art historian, author and photographer, with a PhD in art history from Pantheon-Sorbonne University. She is the author of a number of books, articles and exhibitions focusing on art and architecture in public spaces.

Sverker Sörlin, Professor of Environmental History at KTH and author

Sverker Sörlin has a long career in research, policy advice, academic leadership and as a public intellectual. He took up his current professorship at the Department of Historical Studies at KTH in 2007 where he is one of the founders of KTH's Environmental Humanities Laboratory (2012).

Anna-Karin Wulgué, Artistic Director at the Färgfabriken Art Gallery

Anna-Karin Wulgué is the Manager and Artistic Director of the Färgfabriken Art Gallery. She has long experience of leadership in the cultural sector, including as Director of Örebro Konsthall, and has been a driving force behind issues concerning the role of culture in urban development.

Johan Silfwerbrand, Professor of Bridge Construction and Acting Impact Leader at the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at KTH


Johan Silfwerbrand is Professor of Bridge Construction at KTH and Acting Impact Leader at the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at KTH. He is active in the Swedish Concrete Association, Swedish Universities of the Built Environment (SBU), Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS), American Concrete Institute (ACI) & fédération internationale du béton (fib).

About the exhibition

The basis of the exhibition is a photo exhibition by Marianne Ström, art historian and photographer, who has over 6,000 photographs of bridges in her collection. The exhibition will also showcase interesting current research and education on the theme of bridge building at KTH, including student work.
