The research activities within the school of Engineering Sciences are very wide and encompass almost everything from fundamental mathematics to applied mechanics.
In basic research we work both with theoretical and experimental methods, often in collaboration with international universities, research institutes and industry. The applied research is often a combination of theoretical, numerical and experimental work and is conducted in close co-operation with both academia and industry, both within Sweden and internationally.
The school has several centres of excellence and is successful within the European framework programme collaboration. One outstanding feature of the school is the extensive experimental work and unique experimental facilities. Another is that several of our research groups are world-leading in their fields of research.
The research is conducted at the 7 departments of the school.
