France: École Polytechnique

Ecole Polytechnique is a French public institution of higher education and research, located in Palaiseau near Paris. Polytechnique was formed in 1794 during the French Revolution, and became a military school during Napoleon I in 1804. The majority is located in the Latin Quarter in central Paris. Among its alumni are three Nobel Prize winners, three French presidents and many company leaders.
