The Institute of Science Tokyo is a national research university located in Tokyo. The university was formed in 2024 through a merger of Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo Medical and Dental University. Roughly 13,000 students study here in various technical and medical subjects. The university ranks among the top ten universities in Japan.
Newly formed university
The Institute of Science Tokyo was established on 1 October, 2024, through a merger of Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Tokyo Institute of Technology, with which KTH previously had an agreement. The merger may mean that the range of courses in medical subjects is expanded, which can be positive for those who study subjects in, for example, biotechnology and life science.

TiT requires that the nominated students submit a portfolio together with the application. It is also required to submit a Letter of Recommendation and a description of your "research subject".
