Canada: Polytechnique Montréal

Founded in 1873, Polytechnique Montréal is one of Canada's leading engineering teaching and research institutions. It is the largest engineering university in Québec, situated in Montreal, at the base of the mountain and near the river. 8,200 students study in this university.

University in brief

Language of instruction: Students may choose between studying in English or French. In English, PM offers International Thematic Clusters programmes every Fall semester (late August – late December). ITC's offer 3rd/4th yr specialized course programs in a range of engineering fields. If students wish to study in French they may join a regular Engineering program.

Note: During the Fall term, there are Thematic Clusters offered to exchange students in English. The Thematic Clusters examples: Emerging Biomedical Technologies, Energy Systems, Engineering Physics, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Software and Computing (sometimes offered Spring term also), Sustainable Development, Sustainable Transport (clusters may vary year to year). Courses often are available to be taken between different clusters. The School of Business is not open to exchange students.

Polytechnique Montreal's international insurance requirement is waived for Swedish students due to an agreement between Québec and Sweden.
