Seoul National University is a national research university located in Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 1946, Seoul National University is considered to be the most prestigious university in the country. The university has around 27,000 students and hosts approximately 300 international students each year.

Academic calendar: each semester has 16 weeks: early March-mid June; early September-mid December
Credit system: 18 credits (six courses of three credits each) on undergraduate level and 12 credits graduate level equal to 30 hp per semester.

Note: Undergraduate programmes are four years long, Graduate programmes are two years long. Only students being in their forth study year at the time of application at KTH, can apply for courses on the Graduate level. Medicine or MBA not open to exchange students. A compulsory health insurance, NHI (National Health Insurance in Korea), is registrered for incoming students automatically after arrival to South Korea; Kammarkollegiet's Student OUT is still valid. A study plan to different departments required, depending on SNU's acceptance result.
