Why did you choose this master’s programme?
After completing my bachelor’s degree, I worked for a year in an environmental laboratory, where I gained firsthand insight into how technology and biology can complement one another. This experience inspired me to further explore the intersection of engineering, biology, and entrepreneurship. I chose this program at KTH because it offers the ideal opportunity to build my knowledge and skills in such a multidisciplinary field. In addition, the program’s content, KTH’s strong academic and professional environment, and the chance to live and study in the vibrant city of Stockholm were all key factors in my decision.
What are the best aspects of your programme?
One of the best aspects of our program is its multidisciplinary structure, which offers a great deal of flexibility to tailor the studies to your own interests and career goals. With a wide selection of elective courses each semester, students can really shape the direction of their program. I also value that the professors emphasize not only technical concepts, but also the development of employable, practical skills that can be applied across real-world industries and professional contexts after graduation.
How is student life in Stockholm?
Whenever friends ask me what Stockholm is like, I often describe it as a “small big city.” It has all the offerings of a major city without feeling overwhelming, and it remains very walkable and cyclist-friendly. Stockholm is a vibrant city that caters to almost every interest, and locals are proud of their city and eager to share its highlights with newcomers. For students, the city provides excellent infrastructure that makes life here enjoyable, including reliable public transportation, extensive student discount programs, and strong social support systems—all of which help make the transition to studying abroad smooth and welcoming. On top of this, Stockholm has a great balance between nature and urban life, with abundant parks and a bustling city center that is alive year-round. No matter the season, there is always something happening here!
How would you describe your time at KTH so far?
From my very first day at KTH, I was welcomed by warm and friendly people. Over time, I can confidently say that I’ve built lifelong friendships here. The international environment has given me the opportunity to connect with people from all over the world, which I consider an invaluable experience. The university itself beautifully blends modern, state-of-the-art facilities with a historic charm, creating a unique atmosphere. Campus life is vibrant, with countless events and a wide variety of student associations and clubs that make it easy to get involved, pursue different interests, and meet new people.
