1st Nordic SMC Conference and 6th ISon Workshop

The Sound and Music Computing Group at MID organized The 1st Nordic Sound and Music Computing Conference at KTH and The 6th Interactive Sonification Workshop, in collaboration with the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. 

The chain of events, held on 18 - 20 November 2019, was opened with the ISon 2019 at KTH on the first day, bringing the theme of Interactive Sonification Enabling Inclusion and Creativity. Seven papers were presented, along with a Keynote by Kristina Höök. ISon 2019 was concluded with a Design Fiction Workshop on The Soundscape of the Future led by Jarmo Laaksolahti.

Second day was started with a hands-on introduction to Bela, a platform that can be used for realtime interactive sonification. The workshop was led by Astrid Bin, one of the Bela creators. The afternoon session was held at the KMA Royal Academy of Music, Stockholm, with oral presentations as well as music in honor of KMH's Professor Bill Brunson.

On the final day of the conference, foley artist Ulf Olausson and audiovisual artist Eleonora Oreggia presented their works as Keynote of the day. Oral presentations as well as poster and demo sessions fill up the rest of the day.
