Best Paper Award at HRI 2021

Published Mar 26, 2021

Congratulations to Sarah Gillet, Ronald Cumbal, André Pereira, José Lopes, Olov Engwall, and Iolanda Leite that has received the Best User Studies Award at HRI 2021 for their paper "Robot Gaze Can Mediate Participation Imbalance in Groups with Different Skill Levels". This paper explores how robot gaze could influence participation behavior in groups in which individual differences are expected to lead to imbalanced participation. This work shows that if the robot adapts its gaze to the participation behaviors, it can lead to more equal participation.

For more information, see this interview with Sarah Gillet (RPL) and Ronald Cumbal (TMH) about this work.
