Research assistant within software development for Automated IT security
School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at KTH
Job description
We offer a summer internship for someone who is or are studying to become a software engineer in the area of automated network security. In this line of research, we develop systems capable of autonomous security management. Towards this goal, a key challenge is to develop realistic environments that can be used to collect data and to evaluate such systems. In our previous work, we have developed a software framework for emulating complex IT infrastructures and cyber attacks (see the references at the end of this document). Using this framework, we are able to study the effect of different security mechanisms in realistic environments.
In this project, the goal is to extend our software framework : limmen.dev/csle. The extension will be focused on developing software infrastructure for emulating advanced network defense capabilities, e.g. dynamic reconfiguration based on network function virtualization and software-defined networking methods.
