Job description

This is a senior position where researcher is expected to coordinate/lead research activities within a new research center (SMART 6G SAT) in Communication Systems Division, take leading roles in international projects, conduct world-class scientific research, publish in leading journals and conferences, and supervise Ms and PhD students.
Researcher will work on wireless network design and optimization, specifically focusing on data driven, AI assisted resource management. Machine learning and model-based optimization tools will be used together for dynamic resource allocation considering both cloud processing and radio resources. Current research topics include but are not limited to the following:
(1) Novel network architectures and Open RAN, (2) Joint communication, computation and sensing, (3) Integrated satellite and terrestrial networks and 3D network resource management. Results will be presented in high impact scientific publications.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent foreign degree 
  • Excellent proficiency in English
  • At least one year experience as a research leader/manager/supervisor

Preferred qualifications

  • Research expertise in Wireless Networks 
  • Teaching ability in Wireless Networks
  • The ability to follow new research trends and develop ideas and problem formulations independently.
  • Experience of developing and leading activities and staff in a research group.
  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The employment is valid until further notice (permanent post) according to agreement.
