Postdoc in Antibody Glycoengineering

School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health at KTH

Job description

Hober lab is dedicated to advancing predictable and robust systems for protein production, purification, and detection. Our research spans protein engineering for therapeutic development, diagnostics, and bioprocessing, as well as the development of high-throughput and pilot-scale production systems.

We are now seeking a highly motivated Postdoc to drive a project focused on glycoengineering of antibodies. The work will center on protein production in mammalian cells, glycosylation pathway engineering, and optimization of IgA production and purification. This project offers an exciting opportunity to develop next-generation therapeutic antibodies by tailoring glycan structures for improved stability, efficacy, and biological activity. A unique strength is integration with the COMMUNITY biobank at Karolinska Institutet, comprising over 60,000 nasal secretion samples with defined protection correlates. Detailed IgA characterization will inform recombinant IgA design, which will be tested in stem cell-derived nasal and lung organoids, directly linking molecular design to human-relevant respiratory immunity models.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral researcher with a solid background in protein production who is eager to apply glycoengineering strategies to advance the design and function of next-generation therapeutic antibodies.
