REAP-UP: Resource Efficiency and Assessment Processes for Used Parts

Aim and main expected results

REAP UP aims to lay the groundwork for a system demonstrator showing how flows of used components (“Cores”) can be managed in an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable way across international contexts. The preparatory project will map the reuse and Core-handling system in a Swedish/European context and contrast it with a growth-market context. It will select two contrasting “extreme cases” for the demonstrator, identify relevant AI tools to support decision-making in resource management, and mobilise new collaboration partners. Expected results are a shared system description (boundaries, challenges, opportunities and desired future state), common goals and an activity plan, and a description of the expected effects of a full demonstrator, including reduced transport impact, less new production and lower need for Core stock.
