WP1 advances innovative food processing methods to improve resource efficiency and reduce waste. By applying biotechnology, precision fermentation, enzymatic processes, and green extraction techniques, it enables the development of novel ingredients and more sustainable production systems.

WP1 focuses on harnessing technological advancements to reduce food waste and maximize resource efficiency. By integrating biotechnology, food processing innovations, and circular economy principles, this WP develops solutions that transform side streams into valuable food ingredients, animal feed, bio-based materials, and sustainable fertilizers.
