About me

I am an Associate Professor of Real Estate and Finance at the Department of Real Estate and Construction Management and affiliated with the interdisciplinary research center Digital Futures (KTH, Stockholm University, and RISE). My research is quantitative in orientation and sits at the intersection of real estate, finance, and data science. I specialize

  • in artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in finance and real estate,
  • FinTech and PropTech, tokenization and digital assets,
  • sustainability and natural risk,
  • direct and indirect real estate investment vehicles (e.g., REITs, REOCs, funds, and crowdfunding).

I currently serve as Director of Studies for the international Master’s programme in Real Estate and Construction Management and as Managing Editor of the German Journal of Real Estate Research (GJRER). My work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Housing Research, Journal of Property Investment & Finance, Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, Journal of Portfolio Management, Journal of Business Ethics, European Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Research, and Journal of Business Economics.

My academic profile combines strong theoretical grounding with rigorous empirical methods, with a particular emphasis on applied, policy-relevant research. I have extensive experience in interdisciplinary and international research collaboration and am actively involved in major academic networks and associations such as ERES, ReCapNet, ARES, and AREUEA. I regularly engage with academic, policy, and industry stakeholders and am available as an expert reviewer and media commentator on topics related to real estate, finance, FinTech/PropTech and tokenization.
