About me

David Wettergren studied architecture at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and Aarhus School of Architecture, Denmark graduating in 2003. Once graduated he moved to Ireland for work. When Foster + Partners opened their branch office in Dublin in 2006 David was employed as an associate to set up the office and work on a number of large-scale developments in Ireland mostly on projects for the well-known band U2.

In 2007 David did his professional Part 3 exam at the RIAI in and subsequently became a member of the association and the ARB.

Since moving back to his native Sweden in 2009 he set up his own architectural practice DWA. In collaboration with a colleague he started up the engineering firm Strombro Building Workshop in 2010 - specializing in modern wood construction techniques and production which he sold off in order to focus on developing his own practice.

Having worked in a number of companies and constellations with projects ranging from prestigious multi-million-euro large scale developments to council housing he has acquired a understanding of the complexity of the architectural process. David have sustainable design close at heart with a passionate interest for innovation, design and production.

Currently DWA AB. is employing three employees, primarily focusing on developing high-end residential housing and spa/resorts with a particular interest in solid-wood (CLT) construction with a strongly rational yet playful approach. DWA take pride in being highly responsive but alas prestige-less working hard finding the specific qualities and developing the uniqueness in every project.

Since 2011 David is also teaching part-time at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm as a senior lecturer and examiner of architectural technology 3rd year and run Studio 4 in architecture in 2nd year.
