My research is in the area of Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory. I study smooth dynamical systems which have some symmetries and I explore what is the effect of symmetries on the dynamics. For systems with strong chaotic properties, presence of some non trivial symmetries may force existence of many more suymmetries, and in extreme cases forces the dynamics to be essentially modelled by an algebraic model. This phenomenon is labelled "rigidity" and may appear locally near algebraic systems, or even globally.
