I love technology!
Believing that mankind can evolve through technology. That is driving me to work at the forefront of technology development, both as a lecturer and researcher. In the pursuit of showing the potential of technology to satisfy consumers/our needs.
Today wrist-worn security alarms used by over 200 000 seniors in Sweden. Aiming at providing a safety of knowing that just the push of a button will bring you in direct connection with your local healthcare provider. Solutions that today are used only works when you are at home. The means that if you are senior having a security alarm your a prisoner in your own home.
Solutions that today don't support integration with the emerging technology, e.g., fall detection, video, and other health monitor systems. The means that if you are senior having a security alarm you need to press the button to receive help.
Research presented in a report by Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare shows that 20% of alarm signals were lost. That means that if you are a senior having a security alarm you don’t even know if it works.
My current research within the area of technology and health is trying to solve this by developing a monitor and control system, enabling mobility. Thus breaking the prison our senior is facing, enabling a variety of connected devices for usability and finally enabling reliability providing the safety to our senior. Previous research has been for our elite athlete providing with better coaching data. The link on the right show current published articles.
