Jacob
Jacob is the pen name of a master’s student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. His writing focuses on technology, culture, entrepreneurship, and the ways local economies evolve across Europe.
Beyond academics, he actively explores the European landscape through overland travel, using ferries and long-distance buses such as FlixBus. This way of traveling allows him to experience cities more organically and understand how local communities operate beyond typical tourist perspectives.
During his journeys, Jacob has developed a particular interest in local artisan stores and small businesses. He believes these places represent the authentic identity of a city: where culture, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship meet. From independent shops in Denmark to hidden local brands in the Netherlands and Germany, he continuously documents and studies these ecosystems.
He is the creator of Fontff.com and France Big Box Map, a platform that curates and highlights unique local stores across Europe. Through this project, Jacob aims to help travelers discover meaningful places while also supporting local businesses by increasing their visibility.
With a growing interest in technology and entrepreneurship, Jacob is also exploring how digital platforms (especially AI-driven tools) can support discovery, storytelling, and distribution for small businesses in an increasingly globalized world.
