Om mig

My research focuses on the integration of environmental planning, nature conservation, and societal transformation to address the pressing challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and evolving social dynamics. I have developed an interdisciplinary profile that bridges environmental management, social sciences, and planning practice, with particular attention to sustainable urban development, governance, and the role of citizen groups.

Over the past 25 years, my academic work has centered on urban planning, governance, and socio-techno-ecological systems, with a strong emphasis on sustainable urban water management, green infrastructure, and nature-based solutions (NBS). My research consistently combines theoretical insight with practical application to respond to both global and local environmental issues.

The primary aim of my work is to support transformative change toward urban sustainability by embedding ecological and environmental perspectives into planning. By examining planning processes, institutional structures, and stakeholder interactions across multiple scales, I seek to develop and refine methods, tools, and strategies that enable more resilient and adaptive planning practices.
