About me

I am Yanmiao Fan, I am a postdoc in the research group of Prof. Michael Malkoch at KTH since 2021.09. I also conducted my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Michael and my co-supervisor Prof. Annelie Brauner (Karolinska Institutet).

During my PhD, my research activities were mainly focused on the design of antibacterial polymeric materials (e.g. antibacterial dendritic polymers, nanogels, hydrogels) and development of new methodologies to combat drug resistant bacteria. Thanks to the finicial support from VR and KAW, I have the opportunity to further develop my research results in my postdoc research. I am trying to optimize the antibacterial materials as well as explore their commercial potential together with collaborators from RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Karolinska Institutet and Mölnlycke Health Care.
