Malkoch's group conducts research focusing mainly on

a) identifying novel synthetic concepts to sophisticated precision macromolecules that are further manipulated to high-performance networks and

b) unfolding new materials methodologies that with the final goal to address current bottle-necks in the healthcare sectors.

These includes

• polymeric therapeutic as next generation nanomedicines
• development of adhesives with unprecedented fixation of soft and hard tissues
• fabrication of soft networks with antibacterial properties to minimize surgical site infections
• polymeric scaffolds for accelerated tissue regeneration
• surface manipulations towards ultra-sensitive biosensors.
