Course literature

The following books will be used in period 2 2013:

R. C. Gonzalez and R. E. Woods: "Digital Image Processing" Prentice Hall, 2008.
R. Szeliski: "Computer Vision: Algorithms and Applications" Springer, 2010.

The first book can be purchased at Kårbokhandeln, while the second one can be downloaded for free online (click on the link), as long as you keep the file for personal use. While the first book focuses on image processing and some parts of image analysis, the second one tries to cover the whole area of computer vision.

Details about covered chapters in Gonzalez & Woods are here. Note that the recommended readings might change along the course, but will be updated if that occurs.

This course and its assessment are designed so that both the exam and the labs can be managed using the lectures notes alone. However, the books give you a second opinion on the material covered and ease the process of understanding.
