LH225V Gender Theory and Gender Equality in Technical Higher Education 4.5 credits


This course will both contribute with good knowledge of gender research and gender equality, and provide foundations for how this knowledge can be used in various ways for higher education pedagogical work, both in the classroom, in program development and in learning environments, and organizational development work of higher education institutions. Teachers should be able to discuss how a gender perspective can be integrated into their teaching, ie. how a gender perspective could develop the subject content. Furthermore, teachers must be able to work for a gender-conscious pedagogy and the integration of knowledge about gender equality in their teaching, in the development of learning environments and educational programs. The purpose is for KTH's educations, learning environments and organization to be characterized by gender equality, and to contribute with a knowledge development within KTH's technology areas with a focus on gender and gender equality.

Prerequisites: At least 3 higher education credits university-pedagogical course.

LH225V is a supplementary course and can be included in the requirement for 15 credits of higher education pedagogical education for employment or promotion to teaching at KTH, KTH's requirement of 15 credits in academic teaching for employment or promotion to a teaching position.
