The focus of this lecture is on different aspects of business, who is authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of another party, particularly a legal person. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of different business forms are addressed, as well as issues of liability and how liability can arise. Last, the rules concerning creditors and debtors are reviewed, with a final discussion as to the resolution of disputes.

The lectures focuses on privacy in the workplace, particularly in relation to data created and stored by companies or organisations. The concept of personal data and the legal processing and storage of such data is discussed within the framework of EU data protection law. The topic is dealt with from an information technology law standpoint, focusing on how privacy works in practice today due to, for example, the international nature of communications.

The lecture on private international law deals with the basic questions that arise when a dispute between private parties has international dimensions. These questions are what court has jurisdiction to adjudicate the dispute, what country's law is applicable to resolve the dispute, and whether the resulting judgment can be enforced in another country.
