Examination

There are three parts of the examination.

1. Hand-in-problems. There will be three sets of problems that you should solve. They will test your skill at using the methods learned in class. Due dates: Oct 14, Nov 18, Jan 12.

Code of conduct (Hederskodex). It is assumed that:
-you shall solve the problems on your own (or in close cooperation with one or two fellow students). If you cooperate with someone you must mention that persons name for each problem.
-you must not use other resources
-if you in spite of this are using something you have gotten from somewhere else for some reason (a friend, a book, the internet etc.) you must give a reference to the source.
Cheating will be reported.

2. Student presentation. There will be one exercise where students in groups are asked to read a research paper and present to their fellow students. More information in class. Presentations on Dec 16.

3. Exam on Dec 18.. The course will end with a written exam. It will focus on more theoretical questions.

Your grade on the course will be a weighted average of your results on the three parts above:

45-50%   Hand-in-problems

15%   Presentations

35-40%  Exam.

The final grade will then be according to:

48%  Fx

50% E

58% D

65% C

72% B

80% A
