Dear All, here you are just a few notes about the exam next week and Scalable Learning.

Examination HT2014

The exam shall take place:

  • in room FA31 at AlbaNova (on the 3rd floor, in front of the canteen)
  • on Thursday 30th of October, between 14:00 and 19:00

The exam is written and consists of six tasks (2 tasks on geometric optics + 4 on other course topics). It requires a combination of knowledge from different chapters. The textbook, notes, old exams, calculator (not computer, nor mobile phone because of WLAN risk) and a handbook of your choice are recommended aid on the exam. (Bring a ruler too!)

The maximum score you can get - by solving correctly all the 6 problems - is 6 points.

Scalable Learning

I trust you are studying towards the final exam, so I decided not to add any more tasks on Scalable Learning to your workload. The tasks you already solved did fulfill their main function, which was to monitor your progress and make you study during the course :). So, those of you who did all the tasks on time have already gained their 0.5 bonus points towards their final exam!

For those of you who maybe won't take the exam now and intend to use the tasks in Scalable Learning to study on their own later on instead: let me know, and I shall fix some of the bugs in the previous videos, add further explanations and also (if you wish) add the tasks on diffraction and coherence.

Finally...

I thank you for an very pleasant time during the Optical Physics course this year round and wish you the best of luck with all your future endeavours !

If you are interested in studying further optics, and photonic devices in particular, I shall be looking forward to seeing you again in january for one of the following continuation courses:

  • Electro-optics - https://www.kth.se/social/course/SK2401/
  • Quantum electronics (Electro-optics) - https://www.kth.se/social/course/SK2400/

If you want to learn more about our research and maybe have a look at our labs, you are always welcome, just drop me an email a bit in advance and we'll arrange that.

Last, but not least:

Good luck with the Exam next Thursday !

Katia
