Study Swedish

The information below applies for double degree students admitted to KTH before autumn 2022. Double degree students admitted from autumn 2022 are still welcome to study Swedish language courses as electives but it is not mandatory for KTH anymore. However you need to check the requirements for your home university as well.

All Double Degree students should reach knowledge in Swedish language corresponding to the KTH course Swedish B1/B2. If you have no previous knowledge in Swedish you will have to take four courses (A1, A2, B1, B1/B2) at KTH, amounting to 30 credits (4*7,5 credits). If you have studied some Swedish before you may start on a higher level and so study less credits of Swedish at KTH. If you have previous knowledge of Swedish you need to do the Placement test at the web page of the Unit of Language and Communication to evaluate your level of Swedish proficiency: Swedish Studies at KTH

Please note that the Swedish language courses are a requirement for double degree studies but will not be part of the degree certificate. The credits will not count towards your degree nor show on your degree certificate. You can request a separate course certificate though with your results of the Swedish language courses.
