The IxD team conducts research related to the shaping of interactive products and services, with a special focus on emerging interaction technologies and platforms. The main research approach in the group can be described as ‘research through design’, with typical results in the form of technological innovations, design methods, frameworks and concepts that further current understandings of interactive systems design. Particularly strong research themes in the group are currently physical and bodily aspects of interaction, interaction design in relation to energy, and designs that support rich social and collaborative practices.
