The course provides the PhD student with some of the conceptual and practical tools that a researcher needs in order to - on a long and short term basis - interact with society and the research community (research ethics), business (IP in innovation processes), and funding agencies (identfying research projects, research applications).
The course is given by the Philosophy Division at KTH in collaboration with KTH Research Office and KTH Innovation.
The course consists of three modules: 1) Research ethics, 2) Preparing a research application, and 3) Innovation, IP and agreements. The three modules may be taken at the same time or separately. However, it is strongly recommended that the students have at least one year of graduate research experience before taking module 2 (research application) and module 3 (innovation) of the course.
