Our motivation

By putting the citizen at the centre, we help prevent people from becoming patients and enable them to be at the centre of care. The unit aims to create functioning and sustainable systems that promote healthy development and meaningful lives.

Key research areas

Our research focuses on health, society and technology. Our studies often overlap with studies in social engineering, data-driven systems engineering, and medical and health engineering.

Our research methodology

The division has a unique profile of truly interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research methodology.

We understand systems as combinations of citizens, technology, organisations and rules. Our engineering systems approach combines information and communication technology, computer science, logistics and optimisation, sociological approaches and more in an integrated mix.

The joint methodological approach enables us to work with other specialists and with real-world health systems.

Sustainable development

The four main sustainable development goals that the Division of Health Informatics and Logistics is working on in particular are

  • good health and well-being,
  • quality education,
  • gender equality,
  • reduced inequalites.
