Popup Voice Science Coffee Breaks

Our KTH Popup Voice Science Coffee Breaks were held on Thursdays at 15.30-17.00 (Stockholm/Berlin/Rome), using Zoom. Now that the pandemic has thankfully receded, the demand for these Popups has decreased. But if you volunteer your presentations, we would be more than happy to run more of them! Here’s the format:

To join, just to listen in and discuss, please send us an e-mail, and we will send you the link to the upcoming Zoom session. Or, you may send us a title and three-line abstract in advance, for one presentation that you would like to run from your own computer and share. Instructions for submitting are given below.

We curate the submitted contributions and compose a programme of 2-3 presentations, on a coherent theme if possible. These presentations do not count as publications and there will be no proceedings. However, the entire sessions are recorded and posted on this web page, for the benefit of those who were not able to attend in real time.

You can of course share a webcam with your lab mates! There is a gently moderated discussion between presentations. Zoom allows you also to text-chat during the meeting to the whole audience, or individually to any selected participants. There is no charge, and you will need to bring your own coffee.

HOW TO PROPOSE A PRESENTATION

No later than the preceding Tuesday, send an e-mail to stern@kth.se with the text Popups-2023 in the subject line. Attach to this e-mail a text or word document named for the presenter, and containing ONLY the title and very short abstract – NOT a slideshow file – for one presentation of no more than 20 minutes, or as agreed with us. Be sure to include your e-mail address as well. You will be running the actual slideshow on your own computer, and sharing your screen to the meeting. We will contact you to let you know whether or not your presentation has been selected for the next meeting.
