Attention and Working Memory (WM) are both key components in human cognition. Crucial for successful behavioral performance in many everyday activities, they hold a central role in goal-directed behavior. In this talk, I will show that attention and WM can be decoded from both invasive and non-invasive neurophysiological recordings. I will argue that the neurocomputational techniques used to extract information provide valuable tools for studying multivariate systems, such as neural populations. Understanding the coding mechanisms of the brain is crucial in order to develop and improve cognitive brain-computer interfaces. I will specifically discuss neurofeedback as a means to enhance attention and working memory function.
