Wind Power

The potential for wind power, measured as available wind power sites, is much larger than world energy consumption, but currently only less than one percent of this is supplied by wind.

Vision

The potential for wind power, measured as available wind power sites, is much larger than world energy consumption, but currently only less than one percent of this is supplied by wind. This can increase to 10-20% or more!

Challenges

To increase the amount of wind power the construction must be cheaper, lighter, be easy to maintain and have low environmental impact. The electric power system must be flexible in order to handle a variable production.

Research groups

These are the research groups in the KTH School organisation performing research related to wind.
