Lina Bertling Tjernberg among the most influential figures in Swedish energy sector

Energy Platform Director Lina Bertling Tjernberg features in this year’s “Energy Power List”.

KTH Energy Platform Director, Lina Bertling Tjernberg, has been included on this year’s Energy Power List, which was announced at Dagens industri’s Energy Day in Almedalen.

The 2022 Energy Power List, (Maktlistan Energi 2022), is compiled by the Energimarknaden newsletter and Swedish financial daily, Dagens industri, with the help of a reference group of eight leading figures from the energy sector.

To qualify for inclusion on the list, candidates must meet the following three criteria: they must hold a formal position; exert influence on the energy debate; and have impacted developments and investments in the energy sector.

KTH Energy Platform  Director Lina Bertling Tjernberg  was ranked 14th on the list, which was topped by Vattenfall CEO Anna Borg .

“I’m extremely honoured to be included on the list. My sincere thanks to everyone who made this possible! It’s fantastic recognition of KTH’s energy research and our focused role in the energy debate, which has contributed to the development of the energy sector,” says Bertling Tjernberg, professor of Power Grids at KTH.

Vital to attract new talent

Bertling Tjernberg stresses the importance of co-operation between politics, business and academia in collaborations with society.

“I’m proud of our joint efforts to accelerate the energy transition and achieve the climate goals, while at the same time striving to maintain a reliable and robust electricity system in Sweden and make our contribution to an energy-independent Europe,” says Bertling Tjernberg.

“Now we need more talent in the energy industry to address challenges and opportunities. Our industry is inclusive and our field touches everyone in society. Let’s build the future together.”

Bertling Tjernberg’s place on the list was accompanied with the following citation:

"Energy Platform Director who co-ordinates and supports new research initiatives in the energy field. Named 2021 Woman of the Year for her work and being a ‘strong force and guarantor of a more equal supply of skills in today’s and the future’s sustainable energy system’. Leader and opinion builder in explaining the energy transition and why nuclear power has a role to play in the future.”
