CAPTivating - Comparative Analysis of Public Speaking with Text-to-speech Synthesis
Captivating an audience means attracting and holding the listeners' attention by being very interesting, exciting or pleasant. The proposed method aims to use comparative perceptual experiments with spontaneous speech synthesis to be able to systematically vary various speech features and measure the direct and combined perceptual impact.

STANCE
Perception of speaker stance - using spontaneous speech synthesis to explore the contribution of prosody, context and speaker. Speaker stance is broadly defined as the speaker’s attitude towards what they are saying. In this project we aim to establish and pioneer a new research methodology to study the perceptual contributions of prosodic features, speaker characteristics and contextual embedding, using modifiable datadriven speech synthesis.

Connected - Context-aware speech synthesis for conversational AI
Speakers use a variety of strategies to continuously adjust their speech delivery in response to the situational context of the conversation. In this project the aim is to develop a context-aware conversational speech synthesizer that allows for implicit control over the manner of speaking to cater for the communicative needs of different interactive scenarios.
