Swedish for employees at KTH

KTH Language and Communication offers Swedish courses for employees. We also offer packages for school groups and can tailor courses for groups with special needs. Contact us and together we can find a solution that suits you! All courses are fast-paced.

What will I gain from learning Swedish?

If you know the local language, it will be easier to become part of the community at work and in society. If you know Swedish, you are more likely to be successful and want to stay in Sweden.

It also increases your chances of having a career at KTH. Often, knowledge of Swedish is a prerequisite for you to be able to participate in and take on tasks that are regulated by our official mission.

Tailor-made courses

KTH Language and Communication offers courses in Swedish for those who are recruited internationally. We can tailor the course to your needs and those of KTH.

During the lessons you will practise speaking Swedish. We talk about social issues, Swedish culture, KTH as a workplace and your professional role.

We can also offer individual tuition. The private lessons are completely tailored to your needs and wishes.

Swedish courses during the spring semester 2026 (period 3 and 4)

During the autumn term of 2026, the following courses will be offered. All classes start in week 3. No classes in weeks 10, 11 and 15. Classes end in week 19.

  • Swedish A1 - Tuesdays 10-12

  • Swedish A2 - Tuesdays 15-17

  • Swedish B1 - Thursdays 8-10

  • Swedish B2 - Wednesdays 15-17

  • Advanced Swedish - Tuesdays 15-17

Registration

Please complete the registration form . NOTE: It is essential that you provide the KTH invoice reference in the correct format. Further information is available in the section “Invoice/Payment.”

The registration is open until January 6. You will receive a confirmation from us no later than January 8.

Rates

Course, KTH employee: 8 300 SEK

Course, external participant: 10 000 SEK

Individual tutoring: example price 10 x 90 minutes - 35 990 SEK

Cancellation

The application is binding. In case of cancellation, the following applies:

  • Four weeks before the start of the course, 25 percent of the course fee will be charged.
  • Three weeks before the start of the course, 50 percent of the course fee will be charged.
  • Two weeks before the start of the course, the course fee is charged in full.
  • In case of illness with presentation of a doctor's certificate, an administration fee of SEK 500, excluding VAT, is charged.
