The primary focus is on the aeroacoustic modeling and laminar-turbulent transition. We first investigate the feedback mechanism within the edge-tone configuration—evaluating the relative dominance of vortices versus sound—and introduce a simplified aeroacoustic model of a recorder. Furthermore, we present numerical results demonstrating the delay of natural laminar-turbulent transition in a flat-plate boundary layer. This includes the suppression of Tollmien-Schlichting waves utilizing elastic coatings, miniature vortex generators (MVGs), and free-stream vortex generators. Finally, the presentation concludes with a discussion on recent advancements in modeling and predicting subcritical transitions.
