MIST stands for The Miniature Student Satellite and is KTH’s first student-built satellite and a student-driven space project at the KTH Space Center. The satellite is a 3U CubeSat developed by students in close collaboration with researchers and industry partners, with the aim of providing hands-on experience in real satellite development, testing, and space operations.
The plan is to launch the satellite during the first half of 2027. As we prepare for launch, we are now recruiting participants for the Flight Preparation Team.
As a participant, you may work on one or more of the following tasks:
Take part in satellite testing
Support launch vehicle interface handling
Ground station maintenance
Prepare flight operations and mission activities
The year ahead will be intensive, and participants will work on several tasks in parallel or in different phases as we approach launch.
Examples of useful skills and experience:
Mechanical engineering
Machine shop skills
Software engineering
Hands-on electronics experience
