University of Queensland is one of Australia’s oldest and most renowned universities. Situated by the river in Brisbane, it hosts around 20,000 international students out of nearly 55,000 students. Number of spots: Two semester spots for Architecture student; two semester spots for other students. Grade requirements: No. But a minimum grade of VG/C/15 in English 6/English B or a grade of B/17.5 in English 6/English B from upper secondary school, is required, depending on course choice.
Increased costs for student visas for Australia
On 1 July 2024, the Australian Department of Home Affairs announced an increased cost for student visas for Australia. The student visa fee is now AUD 1600.00 (~EUR 1000). Australian universities are working together to highlight the impact on exchange students who plan to study in Australia.

Nominated exchange students needs to submit a portfolio together with the application to UQ:
Design portfolios should consist of university study (no more than 20 pages) completed during Bachelors degree and demonstrate a balanced range of skills and interests:
— a minimum of two design projects
— full documentation (site plan, floor plans, sections, elevations and/or 3D views)
— a short description of each project
— drawings should be submitted in Adobe pdf format
