Studies abroad for Information and Communication Technology, 180 ECTS credits

KTH offers great opportunities for studying abroad – a unique chance to improve your résumé, explore the world and make friends for life. It is therefore not surprising that one-third of KTH graduates have carried out part of their studies abroad. Since not that many partner universities offer courses in English on Bachelor's level yet, we recommend that students in the Bachelor’s programme in Information and Communication Technology choose universities in Ireland, USA, Australia and Singapore. Students with knowledge in other languages may study on Bachelor's level in other countries.

Exchange studies

Exchange studies involve replacing one or two semesters at KTH with studies at one of KTH’s more than 200 exchange universities around the world. At the exchange university you will study in English or the local language. Preparatory language courses are given at KTH, and students on all programmes have the opportunity to choose KTH language courses within their optional credits. The most popular destinations for students on the programme in Information and Communication Technology are University of Illiois at Urbana-Champaign in USA and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Michigan Joint Institute) in China. Within the ICT area it is possible to take courses in English in TU München in Germany and at TU Delft in the Netherlands on Bachelor's level. Students usually carry out exchange studies during year three.

As a student on the Bachelor’s programme in Information and Communication Technology, you can undertake exchange studies at any exchange university available to students at the School of Information and Communication Technology. The range is updated annually and may therefore change by the time you are able to carry out exchange studies.

Degree thesis and projects abroad

Many students at KTH do their degree theses or other projects abroad. This can involve anything from a thesis project at a European company to field studies in a developing country. Students on the programme in Information and Communication Technology are able to conduct their Bachelor's thesis at partner institutions sucj as TU München in Germany and at TU Delft in the Netherlands.

Other opportunities

There are many other opportunities to discover the world through KTH. These include summer courses at partner universities in China and an exchange programme in entrepreneurship with the National University of Singapore. KTH also offers a variety of joint Master’s programmes together with other prominent universities, giving students the chance to spend a year at each university and receive a degree from both.
