What made you choose KTH, Stockholm/Sweden, for your programme?
Since I started my engineering career, I have felt very strongly about finishing my studies at KTH. First of all because it is one of the best universities in the world in electrical engineering (my specialty), and this assures you a good education, good facilities, and a good environment. I chose this master's programme due to its specialist nature, which provided me with the chance to focus on my area of expertise. Another reason why I chose this programme was that it is very practical, very industry oriented, and up to date as per current industry requirements.
Finally, I wanted to study at KTH because I love Sweden! Sweden is a very safe country that focuses on its people. Specifically, Stockholm has a mix of everything – it is a big city with a lot of activities, but at the same time you are surrounded by nature.
What do you like most about KTH?
KTH has a lot of good things – modern facilities, good education, many counsellors…but if I have to mention only one thing, I would mention the international atmosphere and the willingness to help each other in any situation. This is the great advantage of studying at KTH – you can meet different and wonderful people from all over the world.
What are your impressions of Stockholm and Sweden?
As I mentioned before, Stockholm is a beautiful, quiet, safe city with a wonderful natural environment. The Swedish people are really organised, polite, and friendly; maybe at the beginning they can be cold, but when you get to know them, they are really good friends.
What is your best memory from your time at KTH so far?
It is really hard to choose only one moment of this wonderful experience, but I think my best memory is the reception week, when everything in Stockholm was new for me and it was really fun to discover it and meet my friends who are like my family here now.
Are there any differences between studying at KTH and your home university?
Although both universities are in Europe, there are some differences between KTH and my home university. Administratively KTH works better than my home university. It is really easy to communicate with teachers and to get documents. But the difference I like the most is that KTH is more practical than my home university. At KTH, theoretical knowledge is supported by practical assignments, which means more work but it also helps to understand concepts.
What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for their master's studies
During this year at KTH, I discovered that my first impressions and reasons were correct and I found many more advantages of studying at KTH. Therefore, do not think more and apply! I am sure that you are not going to regret your decision. A wonderful experience in Stockholm is waiting for you!
Are you taking part in any student activities?
I am a THS member, which allows me to participate in a lot of activities depending on my interests, including parties, meetings with companies, excursions, etc.
Do you have a dream job after graduating from KTH?
Of course! I am especially interested in Smart Grids. My dream is to work in the development of new electricity distribution systems and to contribute to the development of society.
